This past weekend, I found myself surrounded by the serene beauty of nature and the radiant energy of sixteen other women at a weekend yoga retreat that I had the privilege of co-leading. Amidst the tranquil ambiance and the shared moments of self-discovery, there was a profound exchange that left an indelible mark on my heart.
As I sat across the table from Lisa, a familiar face who had graced my retreats on previous occasions, I couldn’t help but notice the inner glow emanating from her being. In a moment of genuine appreciation, I remarked, “You are looking so beautiful, Lisa.” Her response, however, transcended the boundaries of conventional compliments. With a sincerity that resonated deeply within me, she replied, “I always feel beautiful in your presence.”
